Description:
The Grande Galerie is the name given to the hall in the Louvre Museum in Paris where the Italian paintings are exhibited. According to many experts, it is the richest Italian art collection in the world. But what if you could admire another collection of paintings, and richer too, just a stroll away and for free? Let yourself be awed by Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio, Rubens, Bramante, Carracci, Domenichino, Bernini, Andrea Pozzo, Gaulli… and many others. The most incredible exhibition of Italian art is still in Italy, scattered in the churches of Rome! You feel overwhelmed by the infinite number of churches in Rome and never know which ones are a must-see and where to find the true jewels? Follow this circuit that will guide you through the labyrinthine narrow streets of the old town to discover extraordinary masterpieces decorating small chapels or wonderful gilded altars – enjoy the paintings (and not only) in their ‘natural habitat’, the places they were created for.
