Roman Early Renaissance: Antoniazzo Romano
Antoniazzo Romano(1430 ca-1508) is considered the leading figure of the Roman school during the 15th century. Although his art is strongly infuenced by his tuscan contemporaries (Benozzo Gozzoli, Ghirlandaio, Piero della Francesca) he has to be considered an indipendent and highly talented master of his century, with a unique sense of balance in his compositions and a strong sensibility towards the religious art requested by the roman customers of his time.
The 50 works presented in Palazza Barberini include large religious paintings, altarpieces, panels and decorative frescoes.
