Hi, I am Christiaan, an art and history lover born and raised in Rome to an Italian father and a Dutch mother. I studied History of Art here in the Eternal City and later specialized in Religious Art at the Vatican. I am an officially licensed tour guide, thrilled to show the beauties of my hometown to lucky visitors. About 15 years ago, I started this project under my artistic name Chris the Guide and since then, my collaborators and I have accompanied hundreds of tourists, students, curious travelers, and art and history lovers through museums, archaeological sites, churches, streets, squares, cities, and villages. Our dream has always been to share a little of our love for the Eternal City with all of you—because nothing compares to Rome.
